Invite someone to act for a business

Invite people to carry out tasks for a business in the Export Service.

  • Principal authority

A ‘Principal Authority (Owner)’ or ‘Manager’ can invite others to use the Export Service for their business. This can be done when they are setting up an account or later.

A ‘Principal Authority (Owner)’ can assign someone a ‘Manager’ role. A ‘Manager’ can then invite others and assign them an access level. ‘Users’ and ‘Agents’ can't invite people to the Export Service.

Invite someone to a business

To add a person who can act for a business:

  1. Sign in to your Export Service account.
  2. Select the business you want to invite the person to.
  3. Select ‘Access overview’.
  4. Select ‘Invite a person’.
  5. Follow the steps to enter their details and assign them a role.

The person will receive an email inviting them to the business. The invitation is valid for 7 days.

Assigning roles

When someone is added to a business in the Export Service, they need to be assigned a role giving them a level of access.

For more information, go to Roles and access levels in the Export Service.

Managing access

Depending on the role you have been assigned, you can add, remove or change people’s access.

For more information, go to Manage who can act for a business.
