How is an account different to management or control?
Learn how an Export Service account differs to management or control of a registered establishment.
Having an Export Service account for a business is not the same as being in management or control for a registered establishment.
You can have an Export Service account connected to a business. You may also be in management or control for a registered establishment of the business.
This means you can manage that registered establishment in your Export Service account.
Export Service account and roles
You can create an Export Service account with myID. You can then add a business to the Export Service or be invited to act for a business. If you need to manage an establishment, your myID must have 'Standard' or 'Strong' identity strength.
You will be given an Export Service role for a business. There are 4 roles with varying permission and access levels. Export Service roles are not related to management or control.
For more information, go to Roles and access levels in the Export Service.
Management or control
Management or control is the list of staff for a registered establishment who have the authority to direct:
- export operations, or a substantial part of the export operations, of the business, or
- another person who has or would have the authority to direct a person described as above in the exercise of that authority.
It's part of a registered establishment’s Certificate of Registration. For more information, go to What is management or control?.
Managing establishments in the Export Service
To manage a registered establishment in the Export Service, you must sign in using a myID with 'Standard' or 'Strong' identity strength.
You will also need the following:
- an Export Service role with the business
- be listed in management or control of the registered establishment.
You will only see a registered establishment in the Export Service if you are on its management or control list.
For more information, go to Manage an establishment.
