Change a location

What you need to do if a registered establishment moves to another address.

  • Establishment

You need to change your registrations with us if your registered establishment:

  • prepares and/or stores prescribed goods, and
  • moves to a new location.

That is, Revoke its registration at the previous location and Register a new establishment at the new location. You can revoke and register your new establishment in your Export Service account.

You can’t transfer a registered establishment’s current registration to a new physical address. That’s even if the business otherwise stays the same.

We must register your new establishment to carry out operations within it under the Export Control Act 2020, opens in a new tab. It must meet minimum standards. These include export standards and importing country requirements.

For more information, go to the Registering an establishment section of Exporting from Australia, opens in a new tab.

Change an existing address

The physical address registered for an export establishment can’t change. Except in a few instances.

That is, if the registered establishment will stay in the same location and only its registered address is wrong due to an administrative error.

Or the registered establishment is in an area that is rezoned. You may need to provide supporting documents from your local council to confirm the new address.

For more information, go to Change something else about your export operations.

Change postal address

You can change the postal address of a registered establishment in your Export Service account. For more information, go to Change contact details.
