Why can’t I change my registration details?

Learn more about the registration details of a registered establishment in your Export Service account.

  • Establishment
  • Business
  • Account

You can find the details we have for a registered establishment in your account. They include the establishment’s registration and contact details.

We use registration details to identify a registered establishment in our records. They include the:

  • establishment number
  • establishment name
  • Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Australian Company Number (if you provide it)
  • physical location.

The registered establishment name is the same as the registered entity name in the Australian Business Register, opens in a new tab (ABR).

You can’t change a registered establishment’s registration details. This is because all details (except the establishment number) must be the same as what’s in the ABR.

Australian Business Register

The ABR stores business and organisation details registered with the Australian Government. You can check your business details using ABN Lookup, opens in a new tab.

You can change some of these details with the ABR. For more information, go to Updating or cancelling your ABN, opens in a new tab.

Change contact details

You can change the registered contact details of a registered establishment. This includes the business name(s), which can be the same or different to the registered establishment name.

For more information, go to Change contact details or Change a business name.
