Become an Automated Export Permit Issuer
Learn how to apply for authorisation to approve Requests for Export (REXs) for a business.
What is an Automated Export Permit Issuer?
An Automated Export Permit Issuer (AEPI) is someone authorised to approve REXs for an export business.
For example:
- an AEPI employed by an exporter can approve REXs for that exporter
- an AEPI employed by a freight forwarder can approve REXs for the exporters they represent.
If you’re an AEPI, you don’t need to submit REXs to the department for approval. You can’t approve all REXs. Depending on the commodity or the importing country requirements, we may need to approve the REX.
An AEPI can act for any business. Your AEPI status is linked to you, not to a business.
To apply to become an AEPI, you must have an Export Service account linked to NEXDOC. For more information, go to Connect NEXDOC to the Export Service.
