Manage a business

We recommend a myID with 'Standard' or 'Strong' identity strength.

A stronger identity strength allows you to access more of our services. If you use email sign-in you will have 'Basic' identity strength. You can strengthen your account with myID later if you need to.

Approved accreditations last up to 5 years from the date of notice. During this time, you must maintain your veterinary registration in the state or territory where you live.

Your assigned role in the Export Service may differ from your job title in the business.

If you don’t have all the information needed for a task or section, you can ‘Save and continue’ to other sections. Or ‘Save and exit’ to come back later.

Scroll down to Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and select 

Review the above details. If everything is correct, tick 

You have been authorised to access the Export Service. This means you will be able to sign in to an account and act on behalf of the business.

In this video, we'll look at some of the Establishment features that are now available in the Export Service. You can see how your business will benefit from these new, online methods to manage your relationship with the department.

With this early release of the Export Service, we're introducing online methods to manage your Establishment registrations, replacing the need to submit paper or PDF EX26b forms.

We're also making it possible for you to see your Establishment details, so you can easily understand what data we have captured about your Establishments.

These changes will decrease the time your business will spend managing your Registrations with us, streamlining processing times, allowing you to engage in the export industry sooner.

Now, let's take a look at the Establishment features we're releasing and are available to your business, today.

These features allow you to make direct applications to:

Once you have successfully signed in to the Export Service, you will be able to access any of the Establishments connected to your ABN, where you are a staff member on the Management or control list.

If you are not on the Management or control list, you will need to ask someone who is on the list to apply to have you added.

If you click into any of these establishments, the first thing you will see is the 'Establishment details' tab, where we play back your Registration information, including Contact details.

To edit your contact details, simply click the 'Edit' button, and fill out the form. This form comes pre-loaded with your existing details, making it easier to update them.

Once you submit the form, you'll receive a confirmation email and our staff will begin to process your application.

Adding or removing staff from management or control

To add or remove staff from your management or control list, you will need to navigate to the 'Management or control' tab, where you can see which staff members are currently on the list.

To edit the list, click the 'Add or remove people' button below.

This will take you to a draft page where you can select which staff members you may need to remove.

To add a new staff member, press the 'Add a new person' button and fill in the resulting form. This form will then ask you to fill in key details about your staff, and once you're done, the new staff member will appear in your draft list.

Once you're happy with your changes, clicking the 'Submit changes' button will send your application to us, ready for our staff to process as normal. We'll be in contact about the outcome of your application.

To add a new commodity, product, or operation to your Establishment Registration(s), you will first need to navigate to the 'Export operations' tab.

Here, you'll see 4 main actions you can take, represented in 4 boxes.

Clicking the first, left-most box labelled 'Add a commodity, product or operation' will open a new form.

In this form, simply choose the options that relate to the change(s) you wish to apply for.

For each option, you are given a field to provide details about the changes. Providing these details will allow us to direct your application to the right team in the department for processing.

Once you're happy with your changes, clicking the 'Continue' button will allow you to review what you've written.

If everything's correct, agreeing to the legal declaration and clicking the 'Confirm and submit' button will send your application to us to process as normal. Our staff will then be in contact with you regarding the next steps.

Clicking the second box labelled 'Make a structural change' will open a new form.

In this form, you only have to describe the structural change you wish to report to us, according to the guidance content displayed on the page.

Clicking the 'Continue' button will allow you to review what you've written and submit the application. These applications will be processed as per normal.

3: Removing a commodity, product or operation

Clicking the third box labelled 'Remove a commodity, product or operation' will open a new form.

In this form, you can choose the options that relate to the specific commodities, products or export operations you want to apply to remove from your registration. Again, you'll be able to detail the changes you want to make, to help us direct your application.

Clicking the 'Continue' button will take you to the review and submit page.

The fourth and final box on this page, labelled 'Make another type of variation' opens the last form we'll be discussing in this video.

In this form, you can tell us about any other type of variation you want to apply to make for your Registration or Approved Arrangement.

You can use this form when you're unsure what category your change fits into. You will be asked to provide as much detail as possible about the variation you are applying for in the given field. Our staff will use the information in this field to direct your application to the right team for processing.

Those were all the Establishment features we're releasing and are available now to people on the management or control list for an establishment.

To get started, your business owner or principal authority must give access to staff members through Digital Identity and myID.

You can then use the Export Service to act on behalf of that business.

Someone assigned the role of a Principal Authority or Manager in the Export Service needs to invite you via email from their account.

When they invite you, they will also assign you a role and a level of access.

Your role determines the tasks and the information you can access on behalf of the business.

You have 7 days to accept the invite to the business.

To accept an invite to act on behalf of a business, go to your business email inbox.

Open the email with the subject line ‘You're invited to a business in the Export Service’.

If you have a myID, select Continue with Digital Identity.

Select myID, sign in and follow the steps.

If not, select How to set up a myID and follow these steps.

If you don't have a myID, you'll need to set one up at mygovid.gov.au.

Once you're set up, return to the email and follow the steps.

Review your Export Service account details.

This includes your assigned role and permissions.

If the details are correct, select Accept and create your account.

If not, contact the person who invited you.

You can create an account and link a business in the Export Service if you are listed in the Relationship Authorisation Manager, better known as RAM, as a Principal Authority or as an Authorisation Administrator.

You will need a myGovID to create an account.

myGovID is a form of digital identity that Australian government services use to help you prove who you are online.

If you don't have a myGovID, you'll need to set one up.

Select Continue with Digital Identity, then select, myGovID.

It may take up to 15 minutes, but you only need to do this once.

You will also need to select an identity strength.

We recommend a standard or strong myGovID identity strength.

The next step is to choose how we contact you. This takes around 2 minutes.

We'll send Export Service notifications to your preferred email to let you know when there are important messages in your account.

You need to link a business to manage it in the Export Service.

Relationship Authorisation Manager, better known as RAM, connects you to government services online.

It's separate from the Export Service and not managed by us.

RAM allows you to manage your business authorisations.

We use RAM to confirm the person linking a business to their Export Service account has the authority to do so.

You must be a Principal Authority or Authorisation Administrator to link a business to your Export Service account.

The first step is to link your business' Australian business number, or ABN, to your myGovID in RAM.

Once you've done this, you can then link it to your Export Service account.

To do this, sign into your Export Service account.

From the My account page, select Link a business, then select, Continue with Digital Identity and follow the steps.

From the RAM screen select the business you want to link.

Then select Continue to link the business.

The business will appear on your My account dashboard under your linked businesses.

To link another business, select Link another business and repeat these steps.

This process takes up to 15 minutes to complete, but often takes less, and you only need to do this once per business.

Only those assigned a Principal Authority or Manager role in the Export Service can invite others to act on behalf of a business.

You can invite others when you set up your account or later.

We recommend not using a shared email address to invite someone.

When you add someone to a business in the Export Service, you also need to assign them a role and a level of access.

The Export Service has 4 roles with varying permission and access levels.

A Principal Authority can assign someone a Manager role, and a Manager can invite others and assign them an access level.

To add a person who can act on behalf of a business, sign into your Export Service account.

Select Access overview and then select Invite a person.

Follow the prompts to enter their details and assign them a role in the Export Service.

The person will receive an email inviting them to set up an Export Service account linked to your business.

You can also resend or cancel someone's invite before they access it or remove someone's existing access.

You can't restore someone's access if they were removed permanently at an earlier time.

For example, if the person no longer works for your business, you can only restore their access if you invite them again.

To resend or cancel someone's invite or remove their access, sign into your Export Service account.

Select Access overview on the business dashboard, then select the Invited or Access tab.

Find the person's name and under the action column, select the link to resend their invite or change their access, and confirm the change.

The Export Service allows you to manage export transactions with us securely online.

Creating an Export Service account makes it quicker and easier to transact with us.

You can use it to access our service and submit applications for your establishment.

You can use the Export Service to register an establishment and propose an arrangement for us to approve.

Once your account is created, you can use prefilled application details to save time submitting your establishment's applications.

You can access and manage applications and track their progress.

Once you create an account, you need to link a business to use it in the Export Service.

You must be a Principal Authority or Authorisation Administrator to do this.
