Documents for a meat or livestock export licence

Make sure you have the right documents to submit with your application.

You need to upload documents that are relevant to your meat or livestock export licence application. Documents you need to provide will vary depending on your commodity.

Avoid delays in processing times by having these documents ready to upload when you start preparing the application.

Documents you need

You need to provide:

  • access to details such as legal names, former names, date and place of birth, contact information and address for each person in management or control.

You also need the following documents, depending on whether you're submitting meat or a livestock application.

Meat

You need to provide:

  • for packer exporters, an AUS-MEAT accreditation certificate for each establishment the licence applies to
  • for non-packer exporters, a single AUS-MEAT accreditation certificate for the licence
  • access to payment details such as a credit card if you’re a non-packer exporter
  • a copy of the partnership agreement, if applicable
  • a copy of the trust deed, if applicable.

Livestock

You need to provide:

  • a National Police Certificate issued in the last 6 months for each person you’re adding to management or control
  • audited financial statements from a registered accountant from the last financial year
  • an operations and governance manual, if you apply for a small and infrequent approved arrangement exemption for livestock.

You can save your application and return to it at any time to attach documents. For more information, go to Edit a draft export licence application

You do not have to use the Export Service

Using the Export Service provides a simpler, faster way to apply for, renew, vary or cancel meat and livestock export licences. It is not mandatory though.

You have the option to use the Export Service or submit a PDF application form. To request the PDF form, for meat email exportmeatlicensing@aff.gov.au or for livestock email livestockexp@aff.gov.au.
