Export licence application fees and timeframes

Information about export licence application fees and how long the process takes.

Application fees vary depending on the commodity.

Livestock

For livestock export licence applications, we charge by the quarter hour. The time it takes to process your application depends on how complex it is.

We’ll email you an invoice after we’ve assessed your application.

Meat

We charge an up-front flat fee per annual renewal for non-packer meat application assessments.

For more information about current fees for export licences, go to Fees and charges, opens in a new tab.

Timeframes

We’ll respond to your application within 120 days. We’ll email you if your application is approved or if we need more information.

Make sure your application is complete and accurate to avoid longer processing times.

For more information, go to How we assess export licence applications.

You do not have to use the Export Service

Using the Export Service provides a simpler, faster way to apply for, renew, vary or cancel meat and livestock export licences. It is not mandatory though.

You have the option to use the Export Service or submit a PDF application form. To request the PDF form, for meat email exportmeatlicensing@aff.gov.au or for livestock email livestock@aff.gov.au.
