How we remind you to renew your export licence

Find out how we contact you to tell you your export licence is due for renewal.  

We’ll email you when it's time to apply to renew your meat or livestock export licence.  

The email we send you will include: 

  • your licence number
  • key dates for when you must apply to renew your licence
  • a link and instructions to apply to renew your licence in the Export Service.  

If you miss the first email or forget to apply, we’ll send follow-up emails to remind you before your licence expires.  

It can take up to 120 days to process a meat or livestock export licence. It is your responsibility to submit your application on time.

Licence renewal period 

You can apply to renew your export licence from 180 days before its expiry date. You must submit your application at least 120 days before it expires.  

This means you have 60 days to apply.

How to update your email address

You can check your contact settings and update your email address if you need to. 

Follow the steps:  

  1. Sign in, opens in a new tab to your Export Service account.
  2. Select your account name.
  3. Select ‘Profile and Settings’.
  4. Select ‘Contact preferences’.
  5. Select ‘Change contact preferences’ to update your email address. 

You do not have to use the Export Service

Using the Export Service provides a simpler, faster way to apply for, renew, vary or cancel meat or livestock export licences. It is not mandatory though.  

You have the option to use the Export Service or submit a PDF application form. To request the PDF form, for meat email exportmeatlicensing@aff.gov.au or for livestock email livestockexp@aff.gov.au.
