When do I need to register an establishment?
When you do (and don’t) need to register an establishment for export.
When to register
If you want to make, prepare or store prescribed agricultural goods for export, you need to register an establishment. An establishment is the physical premises that contains these goods.
For more information, go to Register a new establishment.
Changing location
If you change a registered establishment’s physical location you will need to revoke your registration and register a new establishment. For more information, go to Revoke a registration.
When not to register
Make sure you apply to register an establishment if you need to. Some people apply to register an establishment, when they should apply for something else to do with exporting their goods.
You don’t need to register an establishment:
- to request an export number. For more information, go to information about export numbers, opens in a new tab.
- to apply for a meat export licence. Use the EX31, opens in a new tab form.
- to list an establishment. For more information, go to Export-listed establishments for non-prescribed goods, opens in a new tab.
- if you are an exporter who does not manufacture goods in Australia. Use the EXDOC EDI USER, opens in a new tab form.
