Create a myID
How to create a Digital ID with myID so you can create an Export Service account.
You need a myID to use an Export Service account.
To create a myID:
- Go to How to set up, opens in a new tab a myID.
- Download and set up the myID app on your smart device.
- Enter your personal details.
- Verify your Australian Identity documents. You need at least 2 from the ‘Standard’ identity strength list to access the Export Service.
- Follow the prompts to set up your myID.
You only need a ‘Standard’ identity strength to use the Export Service. You can also use a 'Strong' identity strength. For more information, go to What myID strength do I need?.
myID and myGov
myID is different to myGov. You access government services like the Australian Taxation Office, Medicare and Centrelink through myGov. For more information, go to myID, opens in a new tab.
Protect your myID
It’s important not to share your myID username and password with others. If you do, it can allow someone to perform unwanted actions on your behalf.
For example, they can change the registered export operations of your registered establishment in the Export Service. They can also access your personal data across other services such as tax and health.
For more information, go to the Protecting your myID section of Security, opens in a new tab.
Why we use myID
myID is a secure way for you to reuse your identity across government services. In the Export Service, myID helps us makes sure people are who they say they are.
This ensures the right people are authorised to access business information and tasks in the Export Service. For more information, go to Why do I need a Digital ID for the Export Service?.
