Invite someone to act on behalf of a business

Invite people to carry out tasks in the Export Service, based on their assigned role.

  • Principal authority

Anyone can create an Export Service account. Only a ‘Principal Authority (Owner)’ or ‘Manager’ can invite others to use the Export Service for their business.

This can be done when they are setting up an account or later. Anyone you invite will need a myGovID. We also recommend not using a shared email address to invite someone.

A ‘Principal Authority (Owner)’ can assign someone a ‘Manager’ role. A ‘Manager’ can then invite others and assign them an access level. ‘Users’ and ‘Agents’ can't invite people to the Export Service.

Invite someone to a business

To add a person who can act for a business:

  1. Sign in to your Export Service account.
  2. Select the business to which you want to add people.
  3. Under ‘Access overview’, select ‘Add a person’.
  4. Follow the prompts to enter their details and assign them a role.

The person will receive an invitation via email asking them to set up an account linked to your business.

Assigning roles

When someone is added to a business in the Export Service, they need to be assigned a role giving them a level of access.

For more information, go to Roles and access levels in the Export Service.

Managing access

Depending on the role you have been assigned, you can add, remove or change people’s access.

For more information, go to Manage who can act for my business.
