Business owner or principal authority
Only a business owner or principal authority can create an account and authorise access for others.
Follow the steps to set up your business for the first time.
Step 1: Set up myGovID
Already have a myGovID? Go to Step 2.
myGovID is a form of Digital Identity that lets you prove who you are when using online government services.
In the future, Digital Identity will be how most Australians prove who they are to government.
What you'll need
- about 20 minutes
- a smart device
- 2 Australian identification documents
- driver licence or learner permit
- passport (not more than three years expired)
- birth certificate
- visa (if using your foreign passport)
- citizenship certificate
- ImmiCard
- Medicare card
Identity strength
Your Export Service account requires 'Standard' identity strength.
Download myGovID from the App Store or Google Play and follow the prompts.

Step 2: Link myGovID to RAM
Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) enables people to act online on behalf of a business.
It requires an ABN linked to myGovID.
Skip this step if you know your business is linked.
Check business is linked
To find out if a business is linked to RAM via myGovID, sign in to RAM and look for the business name under Entity name on the Manage Authorisations page.
If you don't see your business, your ABN isn't linked to your myGovID.
Linking a business in RAM
To link up to 5 businesses call 1300 287 539 and select option 3.

Once linking is confirmed, you can sign in to the Export Service or authorise access for others.
Digital Identity, opens in a new tab is a safe, secure and convenient way to prove and reuse your identity online.
Step 3: Assign authorised access
Complete this step only if you want to authorise employees or third parties to access the Export Service on behalf of the business.
Adding authorisations
- Sign in to RAM with your myGovID and select Manage authorisations.
- Select Business name.
- Select Add new user.
- Complete the following:
- Representative type
- Standard user
- Representative details
- Your staff member's name, and work email address (not group email)
- Authorisation details
- Do you want the representative to be an Authorisation administrator?
- Select Yes.
- Do you want the representative to be a Machine credential administrator?
- Select No.
- Start date: Select today's date using calendar tool.
- End date: Tick No end date.
- Do you want the representative to be an Authorisation administrator?
- Agency access
- Initially this will be set to None for all agencies.
- Scroll down to Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and select Full.
- Summary
- Review the above details. Tick I understand and accept this declaration if correct.
- click Submit.
- Customise access
- Do not click.
